Raising the level of security for endangered lives and property
Architectural Solutions
Protecting modern society
Functional and beautiful, glass is one of the most widely used building materials in contemporary architecture, building and retail design. As a material, it helps building owners, retailers and developers convey a sense of transparency and openness.
But in a world of rapidly evolving threat risks and civil unrest, glass presents a significant security vulnerability and is the weakest point in any building’s perimeter ACE laminates can be applied to almost any building glass in-situ thereby providing building owners with a tested, reliable, flexible and cost-effective security retrofit technology which is a fraction of the cost and weight of more conventional ballistic or reinforced glass. With ACE laminates, glass security projects can be undertaken on a retrofit basis quickly, discretely and often without requiring costly modifications to existing wall or window framing assemblies.
Potential Threat
- Terrorist and targeted IED attacks
- Forced entry and active shooter attacks
- Public vandalism
- Theft, industrial espionage and attempts to steal trade and state secrets
- Random violence from gunfire (targeted and un-targeted)
Threat Mitigation
ACE security laminates can be applied to almost any building glass as part of your overall perimeter hardening strategy. Used in conjunction with other conventional technologies and approaches such as access control systems, cameras and surveillance systems, locking systems, CPTED (crime prevention through environmental design), ACE laminates can help you significantly improve building and staff safety.
Automotive Solutions
Protecting people on the move
Protecting people and property while mobile presents unique challenges. Conventional vehicle protection and hardening has, to-date, been expensive and inconvenient, resulting in significant vehicle modifications and down-time. The additional weight loading required with conventional ballistic glass impacts vehicle stability, performance, stopping distance and gas consumption. The service life on wearable components such as brakes is often cut in half.
ACE laminates can be used to protect people and property while in-transit. Protection against threats starting from break-and-enter theft and vandalism right up to resistance against small arms fire. In all cases, our goal is to work with the glass in-situ or manufacturer’s OEM glass. In these applications, ACE security laminates have been used to protect TV news vehicles from smash-and-grab crimes and executive vehicles from break-in resulting in the theft of valuable corporate property including confidential hard-drives and documents.
Potential Threats
- Targeted attacks and hi-jackings
- Break-and-enter attempts to steal valuables and equipment (i.e. TV broadcast cameras and other merchandise)
- Vandalism
- Targeted assassination attempts
Threat Mitigation
ACE security laminates can be used by vehicle fleet operators in a wide variety of applications. Standard original equipment (OEM) vehicle windows from major automobile manufacturers can generally be retrofitted up to a ballistic level of UL Level 1 with ACE laminates, providing highly functional, discrete and lightweight protection against handguns. Window operation remains unchanged (windows roll up and down), protection levels are discrete and the additional weight to the vehicle is minimal even with all windows treated.
Please note that ballistic level protection is only available on government, law enforcement, emergency responder, corporate fleet and executive protection vehicles.

Military Solutions
Protecting our troops
With hundreds or thousands of locations, buildings and facilities to protecting military facilities presents a unique challenge. Facilities can range from offices with a high degree of public access such as recruiting stations, to more secure and sensitive facilities such as armories, document and record keeping operations, intelligence and strategic control operations.
The security technologies used must be trusted, tested, reliable, easily deployable and meet budgetary requirements.
Potential Threats
- Keeping recruiting staff safe in field offices
- The threat of broken glass resulting from flying debris or thrown objects
- Keeping operators safe from flying glass in blasts
- Hardening glass and glazing in key operational areas
- Hardening entrance-ways to resist active-shooter type attacks
Threat Mitigation
- Protecting personnel and glazing at recruiting stations against thrown objects and protests
- Hardening key infrastructure such as armories and depots
- Protecting personnel and personnel housing
- Retrofitting vehicles for small arms fire
- Protecting glazing on building facings airfield runways and other areas with the potential for accidents
